Job Description:

Develops, maintains and supports internet and intranet sites. Develops and maintains web pages (static and dynamic), websites, portals, and content management tools, focusing on client-side and server-side web technologies. Provides guidance and mentorship to Web Developer 1 & 2 level employees. Designs processes and solutions for enabling web content management, deploys and upgrades.

Leads the development of Web pages and Content Management components using approved programming technologies

  • Designs website content methodologies and tools to enable content management by webmaster / site administrators.

  • Leads the development of websites/portals from mockups and prototypes

  • Establishes process for the documentation of technical specifications for website development in partnership with key stakeholders.

  • Translates functional requirements into technical specifications.

  • Analyzes technical specifications in the development of Websites/portals.

  • Develops websites in HTML, PHP, DotNet and javascript to meet user needs.

  • Builds website content templates within content management tool for use by webmasters / site administrators.

  • Develops web applications, data bases or features based on business needs.

  • Reviews and writes documentation of program code, instructions, and expected results.

  • Mentors team members to conduct code and test result reviews.

  • Understanding of SEO best practices and ADA

Executes the implementation of new Web sites, pages, and applications to existing web environments; develops processes to support web systems

  • Plans and activities to be based on change control rules and standards.

  • Proactively reviews web application error logs for potential problems, identifies corrective action.

  • Leads the development of support procedures, including problem identification, version/change control, content refresh, upgrade and downtime planning and backup procedures.

  • Researches and identifies fixes for reported bugs in web applications; fixes applications as necessary.

Develops and maintains Web environment and information system quality standards

  • Follows appropriate methodologies for project planning, reporting, and documentation.

  • Completes task assignment system testing.

  • Performs change control, training, and documentation.

  • Identifies and resolves project problems, issues, and conflicts.

  • Reviews with the Strategic marketing team site analytics to identify challenges and continue to improve performance and user experience.

Provides web production support through monitoring and troubleshooting

  • Demonstrates ability to perform troubleshooting and appropriate corrective action in support of production issues.

  • Troubleshoots and resolves complex support issues: addresses issues escalated from Web Developer 1 and 2 level employees.

Provides functional guidance to assigned staff

  • Provides oversight and assigns projects to junior Web Developers.

  • Provides performance feedback to manager/supervisor.

  • Provides coaching, mentoring, training, and ongoing support.

Develops and maintains knowledge of Web Content Management, new technologies, and web development techniques and coding languages. Utilizes knowledge of existing environment and emerging products, services, and trends available to support Web environment.

  • Remains technically current of new technologies through reading, seminars, workshops and vendor information.

  • Participates in team/project activities and meetings to improve communication/system and technical awareness to better serve customers.

  • Participates, as appropriate, in providing documentation for customer orientation/training of new technologies introduced in the system environment.

  • Researches and recommends ways to adopt new web technologies.

  • Researches and can perform competitive analysis of other web properties to identify best practices and opportunities for enhancement.
