One of our Philadelphia clients is looking for a Project Manager to lead various projects. Projects will include systems implementation, strategic change, process improvement and other technological advancement initiatives. The individual will report to the Head of the U.S. Program Management Office and will work closely with Investment, Operations, Compliance and IT professionals in all locations. Project management skills and comfort operating with moderate levels of supervision are essential for success. The position requires attention to detail, ability to plan and execute projects and an ability to communicate (both written and orally) project information to senior management from all business areas within the company.
Duties and Responsibilities
Develop, lead and manage project plans to successful completion
Lead project team through formal and informal relationships
Identify, track and resolve issues that arise on the project
Manage project teams for selected solutions/projects as needed
Execute specific tasks as needed on project initiatives
Interact with internal and external vendors and consultants as needed
Analyze and recommend improvements for business processes
Present and/or report progress and status of initiatives to project teams and interested parties
Develop and present project updates to senior management
Proactive stakeholder engagement
Provide informal Project Management mentorship for other members of the group
Foster a teamwork environment among the PMO team members and project team
Articulate, succinct, respectful and confident written and verbal communication skills
Excellent listening skills
Effective meeting management and participation skills
Ability to establish leadership role on project teams of varying scope
Ability to think through complex business problems and generate creative solutions
Ability to comfortably interact within the organization and external product vendors
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
Self-starter who is comfortable receiving an objective with guidance and will identify and execute tasks with moderate supervision in fulfilment of the original objective.
Experience implementing Investment Management trading systems, accounting systems and / or data management systems a plus
Solid desktop PC skills with strong MS Excel and MS PowerPoint skills.
Over 5 years related financial services experience with investment management experience aplus.
