As a Scrum Master, Partner effectively with stakeholders to ensure alignment of Company priorities and IT project delivery, planning and executing on project tasks and driving for results through both project team members and stakeholders. Leverage technical/functional subject matter experts to maximize velocity for project completion. Carefully balance the three constraints of cost, time, and scope to best suit the needs of the business and the enterprise. Ensure accountability, transparency, and regularity in project status updates. Serve as a partner in the deployment of Agile methodology and processes for assigned line of business project being supported by Information Technology.
Facilitate Scrum master meetings for assigned product area or program areas with a focus on guiding the teams towards improving the way they work. Reach out to the larger company network for impediment removal.
Facilitate sprint planning, retrospective and sprint demos.
Ensure cross-team coordination; facilitate getting the work done without assigning or dictating the work
Facilitate discussion, decision making, and conflict resolution.
Help the team monitor progress daily. Identify opportunities for the team to improve incrementally. Maintain relevant metrics to show progress.
May Coach and mentor other scrum masters in a product team. Ensure methods used are applied consistently across the teams
Act as a project manager when necessary. Take responsibility for managing dependencies between our team and third parties or between our team and other scrum teams
Strengthen the presence of our team as an Agile center of excellence. Actively contribute to the company's Agile and Lean Community. Keep the rest of the company network aware of our activities
Certified Scrum Master
5+ years of experience working as a Scrum Master in an Agile environment
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or other technical related field or equivalent work experience
5-7 years of experience of program/portfolio management and strategic planning; 3+ years project management experience.
Demonstrated experience with project portfolio management and establishment of project methodology standards; experienced with prioritization techniques.
Excellent communication, collaboration and influence skills among all organizational levels; strong facilitation and executive communications skills.
Ability to effectively manage and resolve conflicting priorities
High level of organization and attention to detail
Advanced skills in MS Office Suite with particular emphasis on Excel
Understand basic fundamentals of iterative development, software development process and procedures
Understands backlog tracking, burn down metrics, velocity, and task definition
Familiarity with common Agile practices, service-oriented environments, and better development practices
