HRIS Business Analyst

job summary:

The IT Business Analyst (BA) will support projects involving HR functions, HR Systems, and/or HR data.

The BA will work closely with IT and business stakeholders at varying levels on a daily basis to analyze and synthesize information elicited in order to identify pain points, opportunities for improvement, and the corresponding business and solution requirements as part of a large scale HRIS implementation.

Job Duties

  1. Work with HR and IT stakeholders in assessing needs for various business functions within the HR department and related functions.

  2. Plan and facilitate workshops to identify and validate current global HR processes and perform gap analysis to identify opportunities for standardization and process improvements.

  3. Lead requirements sessions using appropriate facilitation techniques, including interviews, requirements workshops, documentation analysis and s

  4. Manage and communicate requirements throughout the software development lifecycle, including requirements prioritization, requirements changes, and conflict resolution.

  5. Facilitate enterprise analysis opportunity activities with an HR focus to identify business needs or problems, define the nature of a solution that meets that need, and justify the investment necessary to deliver a complete solution, including business architecture definition, identification of the work breakdown structure (WBS) and capital/operational cost estimations for the proposed solutions.

  6. Validate HR solutions to ensure it meets the business requirements and help determine the most appropriate actions to address problems identified through project testing or other assessment efforts. Evaluate functioning solution performance to understand the value it delivers and identify opportunities for improvement, including how a solution is actually used after it is deployed, and assessing the effect it has had, both positive and negative.

  7. Deliver appropriate artifacts for assigned projects including process models, use cases, requirements package, context diagrams, business rules, decision models, reporting requirements, and others as needed.

  8. Acts as a liaison between HR business users and technology resources.

qualifications:

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years IT/IS business analysis experience.

  • Experience effectively identifying and documenting requirements for HRIS, HRMS, and/or HCMS applications.

  • SAP HCM, SuccessFactors or Workday implementation experience is highly preferred.

  • In depth understanding of HR & Payroll processes, policies and legal requirements.

  • Ability to define current/future business models and identify process improvements.

  • Ability to influence the interconnections between the business processes, technology, data and people.

  • Ability to simplify and communicate complex concepts to broad audiences.

  • Ability to manage multiple sets of priorities and deliverables in a fast-pace environment with little to no supervision.

  • Strong facilitation, active listening and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to develop and foster strong relationships with business and IT teams.

  • Fluent in English speaking and writing skills.

  • Ability to deal with complex situations holistically.

  • Intuitively assess the best course of action to take in a given situation and understand how and when to apply guidelines.

  • Ability to create Use Cases and Business Process Models.

  • Experience working large and complex projects throughout the SDLC.

  • Experience working on technology projects with vendors.

  • Experience working with distributed teams.

  • Experience managing and working through organizational change.

  • Experience working in Agile, Waterfall, and Hybrid methodologies.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Visio.
