Maximizes network performance by monitoring performance; troubleshooting network problems and outages; scheduling upgrades/maintenances; collaborating with network architects on network optimization.
Administer, monitor, tune and support of SolarWinds networks and associated event and impact software.
Ensures timely execution of scheduled and repeatable processes such as periodic system validations, daily triage, and system monitoring and event log management. Perform routine Network administration and maintenance.
Perform reviews of backups, security logs, and error logs; enhance the disaster recovery and information security procedures and ensure the firm's data is recoverable and secure at all times.
Assists in the automation of help desk and iOps engineering tasks.
Produce clear and concise documentation and keep the documentation up to date.
Communicate status of initiatives to the Infrastructure & Network Operations Manager.
Participate with the other Network Operations team members, IS staff, and consultants in accomplishing operational tasks and projects including problem diagnosis and resolution.
Secondary subject matter expert (SME) to network & storage engineers.
7+ years of Network Engineer experience required
Bachelor's Degree in technology related field of study from an accredited college or university
MCSE 2012 preferred
CCNP, CCNA or similar Cisco certification preferred
CompTIA Security+ preferred
IPMon/Manage Engine NetFlow/PRTG/NCM preferred
ITIL V3 Foundation Certification preferred
Familiarity with MSFT Windows 2012/2016 servers, Exchange 2010/2016, IIS, SQL, Active Directory Services, Skype for Business 2015 and Terminal Services.
Routers: 2900/3900; Cisco Catalyst platform: 2900/3700/3800/3900/4500/4900; and Cisco Unified Wireless Network (CUWN).
