Position Description:
Works directly with customers, vendors, and strategic partners to install and/or design network solutions.
Create and maintain network documentation as it relates to network topology, equipment, and configuration.
Support the plan, design, and implementation of WLAN Networks, including development of configurations and site surveys.
Develop and present tactical network engineering packages.
Assist with network design for new and upgraded wireless head end controllers. Work with all necessary parties to ensure all design and configurations standards are met.
Provide timely and accurate progress status on all ongoing design and implementation issues, with an emphasis on problems, issues, and concerns.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Telecommunications, or related field and/or a minimum of 4 years of equivalent work experience.
A minimum of 10 years of network and/or telecommunications engineering experience.
Strong technical project management and engineering skills are mandatory
Strong network documentation skills and can publish written standards for use by network peers
Able to effectively prioritize tasks in a high-pressure environment
Excellent customer service focus and analytical problem-solving abilities
Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication and presentation skills
Highly self-motivated with keen attention to detail
Thorough understanding of WIFI surveying technics (active, predictive and validation w/remediation)
Thorough understanding of 802.11, specifically 802.11 N/AC/AC WAVE 2
CWNP or CWSP certification or equivalent WIFI experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Highly self-motivated with keen attention to detail
Industry related certifications. Cisco CCNP Route/Switch and/or Wireless. CWNE certification, Cisco CCIE and Aruba ACMA certification not required but a definite plus.
In-depth knowledge of Air Mangent and/or Ekahau applications for site surveys.
In-depth knowledge of Cisco IOS and its use in large enterprise LAN, WAN, and datacenter environments
In-depth knowledge of RF fundamentals, RTLS and VoWiFi applications and products such as Cisco, Vocera, Ascom, SpectraLink)
In-depth hands-on knowledge of advanced Cisco WLAN features such as H-REAP, FlexConnect, Mobility groups, and bi-directional rate limiting
In-depth knowledge of Cisco WLC and Aruba controller offerings and product sets in support of large enterprise WLAN infrastructure.
In-depth knowledge of IP traffic flow, protocol analysis, capturing and monitoring of live traffic streams.
In-depth knowledge of 802.11 B/G/R
Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Visio, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
