Local Volusia County company is looking for an experienced Quality Engineer! This person would be a Direct Placement with the company, including full dental, health, vision, 401K, vacation and sick time. Relocation will be considered for the right candidate.
This person MUST have engineering experience dealing with customers including: Military and Aerospace companies that are highly regulated with specialized needs
Plan and conduct activities concerned with the quality assurance of industrial processes, materials, and products
Drive quality assurance initiatives to achieve product quality and reliability with focus on manufacturing process capabilities and product specifications / requirements
Achieve effective use of risk management processes through the use of FMEA, APQP, and mistake proofing in product and process design
Plan, coordinate and execute internal audits, and assist in coordination and management of third party and customer audits, such as ISO, UL, etc.
Ensure that all assignments are performed in compliance with all applicable Federal, State, Provincial and Company safety and health regulations
Working hours: M - F 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Utilize quality tools to evaluate product and process performance such as: Pareto charts, trend analysis, statistical process control (SPC), and process maps
Communicate with customers providing technical support on quality issues and performance
Drive continuous improvement across facility including: Key Process Indicators (scrap, rework, PPM) utilizing Lean, Six Sigma, Poke Yoke and related
Lead the Root Cause Analysis and Corrective/Preventative action processes, utilizing problem solving tools within an 8D methodology
Lead APQP as part of the New Product Introduction teams, including project risk management activities
Provide technical assistance in the development and implementation of robust processes to meet customer requirements, including QA plans and process routings
Monitor MRB along with timely disposition of suspect product
AS9100 experience preferred
Bachelor's degree in Engineering field or area of study deemed acceptable by the hiring team, or appropriate years of direct experience
Minimum of 3 years quality engineering experience in related manufacturing environment
Experience developing work instructions and relative QMS procedures
Thorough understanding of ISO 9001 requirements
Understanding of New Product Introduction process including the use of APQP disciplines
Excellent analytical skills using Six Sigma and Lean Principles
Six Sigma Black Belt or Green Belt preferred
