Description:

  • Reviews, analyzes, and evaluates business systems and user needs.

  • Documents requirements, defines scope and objectives, and formulates systems to parallel overall business strategies.

  • Require a bachelor's degree in a related area and 4-8 years of experience in the field or in a related area.

  • Familiar with web technologies, application systems, relational database concepts, and client-server concepts.

  • Able to quickly understand and prototype business ideas and concepts.

  • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

  • Performs a variety of complicated tasks.

  • May lead and direct the work of others.

  • A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop requirements and establish traceability to the client or business vision

  • Manage the requirements through the project lifecycle by establishing and maintaining agreements between the customer and the project team

  • Proficient with technical documentation, including business requirements, functional specifications, support documentation, user guides, workflow processes and test cases

  • Ensure the requirements are specified in a manner suitable for the intended audience and are understandable, unambiguous and capable of being implemented and tested

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills

  • Conduct requirement verification and validation sessions to gain approval from business and technical stakeholders.

  • Validate proposed technical designs to ensure alignment with business needs.

  • Provide project support during release and implementation periods.

  • Facilitate workshops with employees from all levels within the organization to identify and implement process improvement opportunities

  • Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively

  • Ability to collaborate and work with engineers, project managers and be able to understand technical concepts.

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in a Business or Technology related field, or equivalent work experience.

  • 4 years of business analysis or process improvement/engineering experience.

  • Demonstrated proficiency with Business Analysis skills, including defining analysis planning, elicitation, requirements management and communication, and solution assessment and validation.

  • Understanding of business process management, workflow and integration methods and tools.

  • Experience with visual requirement modeling techniques, such as logical data and process models, workflow diagrams, context diagrams, and/or user interface mock-ups.

  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.

  • Strong analytical thinking and problem solving skills.

  • Willingness to work individually and as part of a team to achieve business objectives.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, flexible environment, and comfortable with change.

  • Ability to quickly gain familiarity with systems and projects assigned.

  • Non-Disclosure Agreement is required on this position.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience working in airline industry

  • Experience being embedded in technical teams as BA / Product Owner.

Additional Notes:

  • Chicago is the ideal location for these individuals

  • Individuals with an airline background are highly preferred. Team would prefer candidates with airline knowledge so the basic understanding of airline terminology already exists

  • Individual will work closely with the business and must be able to interact with confidence and a quick response time. If the individual does not know the answer to a problem they have to be willing to research and identify a solution while keeping the business informed

  • An basic understanding of internet concepts, mobile apps, and the methodology of business mapping preferred

  • Functional and technical documentation experience required

  • Minimal travel may be required between Chicago and Houston
