We have a great opportunity for an experienced Production Manager to join the team of a successful and growing company in Charlotte, NC. Seeking applicants with 5+ years of experience managing production in an assembly/sub assembly environment. This opportunity is a perfect match for someone with practical experience implementing lean manufacturing principles who is looking for a new challenge. This is a hands-on position working with managers and supervisors at different plant locations.

The Production Manager will report to the Vice-President of Engineering and Operations.

The Production Manager will be responsible for multiple manufacturing and warehouse locations, operations including sheet metal fab, welding, assembly, shipping and receiving.

Responsibilities:

This position will be responsible for the following duties:

Implementing the production schedule for assembling multiple lines of product to meet the on-time shipment schedules.

Will be responsible for maintenance needs at multiple sites

Assist in designing and implementing fixtures to improve manufacturing operations

Overseeing the recruitment process including selecting agencies and filling full time vacancies. Responsible for managing the manpower levels according to demands and the budget.

Using excel spreadsheets and MRP for control of inventory, shop orders, scheduling and time management.

Implementing Engineering changes in manufacturing.

Resolving any shop order issue variances that occur and implementing preventative measures to prevent repetitive errors.

Coordinate with customer service for any customer requests for expedited orders and provide feedback if there are any changes to delivery dates.

Manage the process of ensuring new quality initiatives are implemented in manufacturing.

Manage the RGA process to ensure that customer?s returns are dispositioned in a timely manner.

Joint Responsibility with the VP Engineering and Operations for setting and managing the manufacturing budget. This includes the MRO purchases, building maintenance and capital expenditures.

Chairing the safety meetings and making sure that all safety and building maintenance requirements are up to date.

Participating in production, product planning and inventory control meetings.

Responsible for the manufacturing vehicles and forklift truck maintenance, service and replacement.

Working hours: 7 AM - 4 PM

Skills:

Job Requirements

Minimum 7 years production management experience.

Minimum 5 years of production planning experience using advanced MRP system within a manufacturing environment.

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management, Business, or relevant field.

Advanced knowledge of MRP Software.

Advanced understanding of BOM Structures, routings and MRP tools.

Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Ability to create macros, vlookups and pivot tables required.

Advanced knowledge of using scanning technology to process all manufacturing, shipping and receiving transactions.

Knowledge of reports to generate data to support decision making is desirable.

APICS Certification is a plus.

Must be able to perform well under pressure.

Expertise in fixture design.

Experience with building maintenance and construction is preferred.

Good written communication skills.

Good people skills.

Previous experience with short lead time production assemblies is beneficial.

Must be a team player with ability to handle multiple simultaneous tasks and follow-up on requests.
