Responsible for governance activities with the network infrastructure group. The roles that this candidate will fulfill is to support the detailed analysis activities involved as we stand up patching and reporting governance work utilized by the network teams within the environment. The candidates will be responsible for engaging with 28 workstream leads and engineering teams to understand the business processes and translate that functionality into needs assessment for our future state solution.
Candidate will be involved in process engineering and design work as we establish a vulnerability management program for the Connectivity Competency center. Vulnerabilities, that were identified by our Vulnerability Assessment team (output from a tool called Qualys), will be the primary focus for these team members. Our team will be receiving report data from this tool and need to establish a holistic approach (reporting, asset inventory, automated workflow, etc.) to support this program. Candidates will be involved in the data analysis of the report data, definition of processes to support assessment of issues, and follow-up activities on the reported data to ensure team completion of patching activities. Processes and procedures are currently in an infant state and need to be transformed into a production state so the candidates will be involved in defining the workflows/procedures for the organization. There will be some level of automation that we will need to define as part of interaction with available data marts so individuals will be responsible for defining data needs (data flow diagrams, data maps, etc.) and creating technical designs on report data/dashboards. Individuals will also partner with other teams for process definition and technical solutioning. Role is somewhat generically defined as these individuals will be involved in multiple design activities.
Required skills: Data mapping and data analysis (Excel). Process engineering and creating process flows in Visio. Along with extensive relationship management skills to support coordination and interfacing activities.
Skills that elevate the candidate: Network asset familiarity (examples: IP phones, routers, etc.), patching program experience (example, prior experience with network patching programs and processes), Familiarity with Qualys tool and its resulting data (Qualys is the tool that is generating the vulnerability data that we are building the program around).
Candidates must have very clear communication skills as they will be interacting with our senior level technical partners during research and design sessions. Candidates must be very self-motivated and driven. Must have own transportation.
As a minimum, I expect that the candidate will have 10+ years of technical analysis and design experience. Preference is individuals that have worked with infrastructure engineering teams for familiarity with the asset types or past process experience in asset patching programs.
Tools that will be utilized in position: Excel 2010 (for data mapping artifacts), Visio 2010 (for process flows), Word 2010 (for design doc creation), Snag It (or equivalent) for screen capture and UI manipulation, and Live Meeting for hosting working sessions.
