The Business Systems Engineer / Systems Analyst is responsible for taking lead of capturing user needs, defining and documenting functional requirements, creating business and systems process flows, and designing business systems transformation solutions focused on efficiencies. They will be responsible for interfacing with the Project Lead to contribute to business systems architecture engineering, and manage and drive component solutions. This role will assist with requirements traceability and categorization, tracking dependencies and performance metrics across initiatives, providing regular status updates, and integrates knowledge of business and functional priorities into their contributions. Because the position requires extensive interaction with others, the individual must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills while maintaining a positive can-do attitude.
The Business Systems Engineer / Systems Analyst will be responsible for collaborating with stakeholders and other groups to help deliver solutions with tight timelines. This includes integrating with business units to understand their needs, working with various engineering and development teams to create a solution for the business, utilizing company application and services infrastructure, and then working with impacted development and testing team(s) to ensure successful delivery of the proposed solution. The successful candidate will have a passion for clarity, consistency, and design, and will be able to articulate proposals to both technical and non-technical audiences. They will speak in storyboards, visualize in diagrams and workflows, and imagine in prototypes and wireframes. End-to-end candidates will have a proven understanding of how technologies integrate together and what makes a good user experience even better. Individuals for this role should constantly strive to improve upon current work and gain the knowledge to make further improvements.
Manage and drive project solution definition, design and execution in each phase of delivery.
Conduct and manage structured meetings including requirements gathering sessions with complex backend integrations and dependencies.
Provide detailed analyses and summaries of results, interpreting and communicating results and recommendations to brand/business stakeholders with limited availability.
Ability to deal with ambiguity and changing business requirements.
Drive strategic and innovative approaches, giving a voice to the end user and/or customer.
Challenge existing processes to identify and promote opportunities for efficiency and simplification.
Proactively propose improvement alternatives, and implements change in transforming organization.
Ensure comprehensive risk, impact, and dependency assessment.
Ensure that the business engineering artifacts are consistent and appropriate to level of detail for technical project initiatives.
Manage and maintain business engineering artifacts (e.g. user stories, requirements, architecture views, wireframes, interaction flows, etc.) across components/initiatives as strategy, technology, and capabilities of the organization evolve.
Partner with Bus OPS, Dev OPS and PMO divisions to ensure overall project and program success including timelines and deliveries are met.
Strong ability to interpret discussions, analyze and detail complexities, identify patterns and solutions, and translate business needs into technical requirements
Strong ability to communicate across a range of audiences, groups and cultures.
Strong flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced dynamic and evolving business.
Applies knowledge of best practices and tools-of-the-trade to accurately capture and communicate systems, user, and process interaction and solutions paths though most appropriate mechanism (e.g. journey maps, workflow diagrams, sketches, wireframes) for incorporation into business engineering artifacts.
Comfortable with an iterative design process that includes accepting and managing feedback and constructive criticism.
Must be able to manage multiple projects utilizing strong planning and organizational skills.

Minimum of 7+ years of experience as a Systems Engineer, Systems Analyst, Solution Designer/Architect, or Systems Architect with a focus on business systems transformation.
Proven experience in complex requirements gathering techniques, analytical dissection for use case definition and PBI decomposition, business and systems architecture views, high level and detailed process flows and sequence diagrams, test planning/execution and systems requirement analysis.
Experience functioning as a lead or sole Business Analyst, Architect, or Engineer on a project.
Thorough understanding of Scrum and waterfall approaches to: SDLC, systems engineering lifecycle, and processes, techniques and tools.
Demonstrated understanding of BPM/BPO, and experience with process orchestration and workflow automation.
Experience with application development, UI design, and user-facing technology advancement.
Demonstrated experience working cross-functionally to successfully complete assigned deliverable including requirements gathering and documentation skills.
Relevant architecture, requirements management, and change control practices and tools (e.g. iRise, Blueprint, Rational, CaliberRM, Visio, Systems Architect, etc.) expertise.
Proven ability to synthesize many data points into coherent information design.
Knowledge of OpenText BPM or similar workflow automation platforms a plus.
