An Electrical Compliance Engineer is needed for a leading electrical power utility with operations in the Southern Plains States. The Compliance Engineer is responsible to ensure that the company is producing power in a manner consistent with standards. A few primary duties will include coordinating field testing of the generator protection system components, maintaining documentation, functional administration of the PRC-005 tracking database and using technical knowledge to perform event investigations and systems modeling. Qualified candidates must possess 5+ years related NERC non-CIP regulatory and compliance experience for a utility and a BS in Electrical Engineering. This is a direct hire position located in Springfield, MO. Excellent relocation assistance is available.

Responsibilities for the Compliance Engineer

  • Coordinate compliance activities to ensure power production is compliant with applicable NERC non-CIP Standards

  • Develop and maintain a working compliance guide that lists the NERC non-CIP standards that apply to the power production division and generally describes the activities required for compliance

  • Coordinate field testing at generating facilities to validate generator and excitation system controls, and maintain the associated documentation

  • Coordinate testing of generator protection system components

  • Monitor all current and newly developed standards for applicability to power production equipment and activities

Requirements for the Compliance Engineer

  • BSEE required

  • 5+ years related NERC non-CIP regulatory and compliance experience for a utility

  • Demonstrate a solid understanding of electrical engineering related to industrial power equipment, and specifically power generation equipment; field experience in a power generation environment is preferred

  • Foundationional understanding of electrical equipment protection systems and related components

  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time to regional facilities
