The Global Trade Compliance Analyst is primarily responsible for partnering with the Trade Compliance Manager in the implementation and execution of appropriate policies, strategies, and procedures to enhance global import and export compliance program and to conduct operational activities as needed.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Determine global classifications and ECCN designation for parts and equipment while maintaining documents in SAP database to demonstrate reasonable care standards.
Manage daily import activities and communications with customs brokers.
Provide support to locations on global trade matters including but not limited to eligibility verifications for preferential tariff treatment programs, duty and tax implications, denied party screening, valuation and export filing requirements.
Conduct global audits of import/export transactions and provide suggestions for improvements in processes where applicable.
Assist in the review and development of company policies, systems and procedures with respect to trade matters to ensure a level of conduct that complies with applicable trade laws and meets the expectations of senior management.
Assist in the creation and delivery of global training programs on multiple trade related topics.
Monitor legal and regulatory developments in global trade matters and provide recommendations to Trade Compliance Manager on any necessary changes or adjustments to the company s practices.
Identify and implement cost savings opportunities.
Serve as backup for various functions within the logistics/compliance department as needed.
Other applicable duties as assigned including special projects.
BS/BA degree and experience working directly with global import and export regulations required
Licensed Customs Broker a plus
Strong organizational and analytical skills
Excellent understanding and application of classification rules and free trade agreement requirements
Strong ability to effectively communicate with both internal and external customers
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Computer literate with strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (SAP experience a plus)
Demonstrated ability and willingness to work in a team environment
Ability to make decisions and recommendations using various resources and information available
Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload in order to meet deadlines.
