The Enterprise Basel Team is part of the Controller s Division of this leading bank. The team is responsible for producing quarterly management reports for Basel III Regulatory Schedules (FFIEC 101 FR Y-14Q) and other disclosures per Basel. The team is also responsible for providing responses to regulatory inquiries and studies and surveys proposed by the agencies, ad-hoc analysis for Basel/Capital initiatives, and participating in regulatory and audit reviews that include coverage of Basel related calculation and reporting. This person will be responsible for the following processes related to the Basel production cycle:
Responsibilities may include:
Preparing the configuration files used in reconciliation.
Estimating risk parameters for exposure submission gaps.
Creating aggregation levels to manage exposure recon gaps.
Preparing process documents to ensure compliance with existing policies.
Performing backtesting of Basel III calculation results related to submission gaps to evidence appropriateness of risk parameters.
Performing trend analysis of submission gaps to explain period over period variances.
Validating Basel Essbase cubes
Creating change requests that pertain to the reconciliation process.
Communicating reconciliation results with Work Streams
The ideal candidate will be someone with experience in bank accounting who has worked with the chart of accounts. Must be able to work with and communicate with the regulatory agencies and have the ability to analyze both accounting and regulatory needs. The candidate should have experience with Basel reporting and an understanding of Basel III rules. This person will also be someone who can manage detail oriented projects looking all the way down at the general ledger account level.
6+ years experience in one or a combination of the following: reporting, analytics, or modeling;
or 4+ years previously mentioned experience with a Masters degree or higher that has a quantitative focus such as applied mathematics, statistics, engineering, physics, accounting, finance, economics, econometrics, computer sciences, or business/social and behavioral sciences with a quantitative emphasis.
8+ years experience in financial services or FP&A
Understand BASEL III reporting
Strong knowledge of Banks balance sheet
Demonstrated expertise in Word, Excel, Essbase, PowerPoint, and financial reporting systems
Strong SQL skills and data base experience.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, with ability to articulate financial information and business insight
Highly organized and detail oriented, with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize effectively
Strong performance history and expertise in finance and accounting concepts
Able to build effective partnerships with track record of delivering outstanding customer service
Dedicated, highly motivated team player with ability to thrive in a demanding environment
Work on special projects for the BASEL group such as reconciliation to general ledger and defining general ledger defaults for BASEL
