The Enterprise Basel Team is part of the Controller s Division of this leading bank. The team is responsible for producing quarterly management reports for Basel III, ICAAP/Economic Capital, Regulatory Schedules (FFIEC 101 FR Y-14Q), and other disclosures per Basel. The team is also responsible for providing responses to regulatory inquiries, studies and surveys proposed by the agencies, ad-hoc analysis for Basel/Capital initiatives, and participates in regulatory and audit reviews that include coverage of Basel related calculation and reporting. In the Basel III Advanced Calculations, one of the work streams is ANIDC (Assets Not In a Defined Category). These are typically assets that do not have a counterparty assigned.
The successful candidate in this Accounting position will be responsible for overseeing various activities related to exposure identification for our Assets Not In a Defined Category (ANIDC) work stream.
Responsibilities May include:
Review the ANIDC Chart of Accounts and understand what the accounts consist of.
Work closely with Corporate Controllers and other Work Streams to resolve any issues with assignment of Basel definitions.
Research and respond to questions regarding exposure identification. This will involve using Essbase, the GL Tools on the Controllers web site, and writing and running SQL queries.
Understand current BASEL rules and assignments of Risk Weights for ANIDC.
Prepare reports and presentations concerning the exposure identification findings obtained through research.
The candidate will be someone who is familiar with bank accounting and understands the chart of accounts. Must be able to work with other Work Streams and the Controllers group - have the ability to go back and forth between accounting and capital reporting needs. Have experience doing Basel reporting but at a minimum should know and understand Basel III. This person will also be someone who can manage detail oriented projects looking all the way down at general ledger account level.
- 6+ years accounting experience.
6+ years experience in financial services and FP&A
Understand BASEL III reporting
Strong knowledge of Banks balance sheet
Demonstrated expertise in Word, Excel, Essbase, PowerPoint, and financial reporting systems
Ability to write queries in SQL
Excellent oral and written communication skills, with ability to articulately present financial information and business insight
Highly organized and detail oriented, with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize effectively
Strong performance history and expertise in finance and accounting concepts
Able to build effective partnerships with track record of delivering outstanding customer service
