Our West Michigan client is currently seeking qualified candidates for a Test Lab Technician opening to join the cross-product packaging test and validation team. Here s a great opportunity to provide technical support to the Product Approval and Lab Operations team by utilizing test procedures, lab equipment and product knowledge to evaluate product and packaging performance and designs.

Day to Day Responsibilities:
Provide testing expertise, data analysis, and guidance in root cause problem solving.
You will set up and complete testing requirements, analyze data and write reports. Testing often consists of unpacking, inspecting, repacking, testing, and inspecting a number of products.
In this position, you will participate in LEAN and 5S activities.
You may also develop test procedures; utilize data acquisition systems to measure the shock and vibration environments, set up spreadsheets for data collection and analysis, assist in the lab equipment maintenance and calibration requirements.
Associates degree or higher in an engineering technology field or related technical field.
Positive attitude working in an ever-changing environment seeking continuous improvement.
Positive attitude working with multiple categories which each have different processes we follow in this lab.
Experience in a package test laboratory and packaging professional certifications are preferred.
Experience with shock and vibration data acquisition and analysis is also preferred.
Basic computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel.
Interest in fixture design and improvement of existing fixtures is a plus.
A demonstrated ability to apply exceptional technical writing and communication skills.
Possess a high level of attention to detail and demonstrate critical thinking through application of data-driven continuous improvement cycles such as Define Measure Analyze Improve Control (DMAIC)
Excellent documentation, organization and time management skills.
Ability to work in a team oriented fast paced environment.
