We are currently looking for a Corporate Payroll Tax Accountant to support our operations. Reporting directly to the Corporate Payroll Manager, the Corporate Payroll Tax Accountant is responsible for, state and local payroll tax reporting, filings and remittances for multiple business entities in all states where the business operations are located. This position will serve as the primary resource for researching tax law changes and monitoring changes to the payroll system when tax laws are updated. The Corporate Tax Accountant will conduct a regular review of payroll data input and audit of tax accounts and assist the payroll function in processing multi-state payroll and adjustments for all monthly paid employees
Payroll Tax Administration:
Timely preparation and payment of payroll tax returns for federal, state and municipalities as required.
Research and respond to inquiries and notices from federal, state and local agencies.
Audit payroll files to ensure proper employee taxes are being deducted and recorded.
Assist with year-end/year-beginning processes and reconciliations and also including W-2 forms issuance.
Support the Corp. Payroll Manager in maintaining proper financial controls and compliance to federal, state and local regulations.
Process multi-state payrolls, interims, adjustments and manual checks for monthly paid salaried employees.
Validate new hire and employee change information for salaried employees.
Balance all taxes between pay registers, year-to-date totals, general ledger accounts and tax deposits
Ability to trouble shoot and test payroll software changes and upgrades.
Confirm all forms are completed for quarter-end and year-end and that all payments, voids and third party sick pay have been processed.
4 year degree, JDE preferred but not required
