Software Test Engineer - Rochester, New York
We are a leader in the design, development, manufacturer, repair, sales, and life cycle support of aircraft control and actuation systems and structures. Our objective is to design and integrate systems and structures aboard customer airframes utilizing our broad capabilities.
We are seeking versatile, detail oriented persons to assist in systems engineering support. The position will be heavily engaged with engineering, program management, customers, suppliers, and manufacturing. The individual must know the important elements in system, hardware and software engineering, have a great sense of detail, know how to take on various duties in a short time, and be able to take initiative when needed.
Develop software test cases and procedures based on software requirements.
Validate through test that the software design and coding meet software requirements.
Select and justify tools, develop testing protocols and procedures, prepare equipment, execute tests, document test results and maintain objective evidence for later analysis to ensure software compliance with requirements and process controls.
Develop reports and identify product or process improvements.
Ability to qualify test tools.
Collaborate with system-level and hardware/software design engineers to validate designs on aggressive time schedules.
Prepare and conduct manual and automatic regression tests to ensure structural coverage of base verification requirements.
Associates degree or equivalent experience required,
Proficient with MS Office tools ( Excel, Word, Power Point, Project)
Excellent interpersonal communication skills (excellent verbal and written skills)
Strong background in Embedded Software Engineering environments.
Desired : Familiarity with the following:
Knowledge and use of requirements capture and test traceability tools (i.e. DOORS, Polarion)
Experience in planning, developing and conducting tests on aeronautical or other safety-critical systems, mechanisms, equipment, aircrafts and other components; applying knowledge and principles of testing methodology, procedures and aeronautical engineering; developing software or hardware to conduct tests on aeronautical products and systems.
Experience using test equipment desired (i.e. oscilloscope, multi-meters)
