Outside Highway Marking Sales - VA-MD territory
Our client is in a unique and very interesting industry that you've surely "rolled over" at some point as you were tooling down the interstate: highway markings. It's definitely been a growth industry but watch out as the economy heats up AND the many expected infrastructure projects begin, this will become even more lucrative.
You can be located anywhere in the territory but must be willing to travel the entire territory to generate business... which means pretty heavy travel.
We are helping them build their US sales team so we're looking for people who would enjoy:
Making a lot of cold calls
Have no problem being the "little guy" going up against the industry giant
Being out in the field demonstrating the product and even showing how to install after the sale
Being on the ground floor of an exceptional growth opportunity
Like being "down in the dirt"? Don't mind getting sweaty? Like working with salt of the earth blue collar road crews? Just as effective getting in front of executives if needed? This could be for you!
While finding someone with experience in the space is a definite plus, of more importance is energy, drive and a can-do attitude. This can be fun and it can be very exciting to see the results of your effort in a concrete (or asphalt) way. The experience we need to see is 1-2+ years of selling equipment, tools or similar products by making outside sales calls.
You would be calling on government agencies - state, local, maybe federal - and also working to get your product spec'd on bids and RFP's. Plus you'd be outside showing your product to work crews as well as training them after the sale.
The compensation includes a salary in the $60K to $70K+ range with a commission plan that could add another $15K to $30K+... or more to your income. They're too small to have a benefit's plan yet but will include a monthly bonus to help offset the cost of buying your own. The commission plan is Uncapped which means you can earn as much as you're worth .
They reimburse all expenses for mileage, provide a cellphone and laptop and give you great products to sell... and maybe even a truck to sell them from.
Interested, let's chat.
If this fits your background and skills, let's chat ASAP.
A resume is the best way to get the conversation started... fire away!
