We in the WA office of Randstad Technologies & Embedded Engineering are looking for a Senior Control Systems Engineer for one of our clients in the greater Seattle area.

This engineer will be responsible for leading the continuing development and evolution of our client s attitude determination and tracking subsystem. Key development areas include system modeling, algorithm development, software implementation, sensor selection and system testing.


  • Expertise in system modeling using Matlab

  • Expertise in real-world programming of embedded algorithms

  • Complete understanding of Software Development Life Cycle

  • Strong understanding of software design patterns for testability and maintainability

  • Solid understanding of IMU sensor performance and sensor test and calibration

  • Strong background in embedded DSP

  • Experience with GPS and GPS-aided inertial navigation systems and algorithms

  • Strong understanding of Kalman filtering Excellent communication abilities including verbal and written communication, the willingness to discuss questions or uncertainties in job assignments and the ability to positively interact with co-workers

  • Strong project management skills


  • Ability to communicate information using standard Microsoft applications including Excel, Word, Office, Power Point, Project and Visio

  • Ability to use company-wide tools and systems to execute the key duties and responsibilities of the job


  • Minimum 10 years experience with the development and engineering of inertial guidance and/or inertial navigation systems

  • Minimum 10 years experience developing software in C, C++ for embedded controls

  • Managing an engineering project team in a matrixed engineering environment

  • Experience with stabilized satellite communications terminals is a plus


  • M.S. or higher from an accredited institution in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field


  • Develop and execute the project plan for continued development of the attitude determination and tracking system

  • Manage the technical development of the attitude determination and tracking system with and developing targets for system performance meeting product specifications and requirements

  • Coordinating with the software and software test team to refine and develop test plans and to coordinate assistance in debugging the application

  • Manage the development and execution of the system evaluation plan

  • Manage the development and execution of the sensor test and calibration plan and evaluation
