The world s largest standalone medical technology development company is currently seeking an Inspector in the Plymouth, MN area. This is a 7-month CONTRACT position. No per diem available.
Responsibilities for the Inspector
Perform routine inspections according to written procedures and accurately document results as assigned. Correctly segregate acceptable material from reject material. Update and maintain device history records for medical devices and components. Report any anomalies to your next level supervisor.
Provide input to Quality Assurance engineering and management regarding inspection procedure improvement. Perform process audits to ensure manufacturing conformance to GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and ISO 13485. Communicate problems and defects in writing or verbally, as applicable.
Authority to accept and reject product (raw material, parts, subassemblies, and assemblies), based on sound inspection techniques and adherence to documented procedures and work instructions. Validate materials rejected by other inspection personnel and verify documentation accuracy.
Perform inspections using the Toolmakers Microscope and other inspection instruments including but not limited to; microscope, micrometers, calipers required in fulfilling the role. Be available for overtime when required according to business unit practices.
Participate in, and support, Lean initiatives in the department and the company. Review and final release of finished products. Perform returned goods inspection.
Requirements for the Inspector
Vocational/Technical education in Quality Control or equivalent experience. 2+ years Quality Assurance experience in a manufacturing environment; medical device preferred. Experience using dimensional measuring equipment including microscope, micrometer, calipers and optical comparator.
Experience reading engineering drawings, and geometric dimensioning & tolerancing. Ability to set up and utilize a variety of inspection measuring equipment. Visual acuity to inspect to applicable standards. Must be able to work with a microscope.
Experience working in an FDA QSR, and/or ISO, compliant workplace. Ability to work in a clean room environment and wear appropriate gowns, hair nets and gloves. Ability to use personal computer and office software.
