The world s largest standalone medical technology development company is currently seeking an Technician in the Plainfield, IN area. This is a 6 month CONTRACT position, with the possibility of extension. No per diem available.

Responsibilities for the Technician

  • Confer with appropriate personnel such as lead, supervisor and engineering staff on assembly and service issues and provide improvement recommendations. Understand and follow specifications, schematics, drawings, and process instructions in order to assemble and repair electro-mechanical components or sub-assemblies.

  • Demonstrate the ability to use the appropriate equipment, tools and machines in order to complete assigned tasks. Understand the appropriate action to prevent deviations from disrupting normal workflow. Effectively respond to questions from other Service Technicians.

  • Effectively work with others to conduct work assignments within and across work groups. Test products according to product documentation. Investigate and resolve product/component problems as reported by the customer. Demonstrate good oral and written communication skills, organizational and interpersonal skills.

  • Understand the department s service and/or product and/or financial goals. Actively participate in problem solving and decision making. Facilitate team s progress toward successful accomplishment of established goals. Assist with factory service responsibilities.

Requirements for the Technician

  • AS degree or equivalent related work experience. 2+ years of electro mechanical manufacturing and troubleshooting experience.

  • Prior experience in medical device electro-mechanical assembly in an FDA-regulated environment preferred. Lean Manufacturing/Six Sigma experience preferred.

  • Ability to assemble simple to complex components or sub-assemblies, understanding of assembly blueprints, schematics, analog and digital circuit operation and process documentation; ability to troubleshoot microprocessor-based systems down to the board level; satisfactory soldering skills; ability to use both PC and operating systems. Excellent interpersonal skills.
