Test Data Engineer
The primary responsibility for this position, as part of Software Development Life Cycle transformation program, is to champion test data automation for test data creation, modification, movement, governance, sanitization, provisioning and facilitating testing community. Person will collaborate with internal test data management development teams in understanding their solutions, co-ordinate, play tech liaison, and help onboarding of applications to data provisioning and access services while executing against strategic plans and roadmaps to support Enterprise Test Data Automation.
The skills necessary to fulfill these responsibilities include a holistic understanding of multi-tiered IT systems:
Software Development Lifecycle and Agile principles/practices
Fundamental understanding of various forms of testing and test automation practices
Particular emphasis on test data usage and automation, including data sanitization/mining/reservation/conditioning, database virtualization and test data synthesis
Familiarity of data sanitization techniques
Familiarity with Oracle, SQL Server and DB2 databases
Given the global nature and size of the teams involved, ability to operate and communicate effectively across cultural and team boundaries is vital. Members of the team are not all co-located, so an ability to work independently and communicate with remote partners is a must (typing in IMs, participating in meetings on conference calls, etc).
The ideal candidate will relish problem-solving and being responsible for the data that is vital to the testing of large IT systems.
5+ Years of experience in IT/QA software development/testing, including 1+ years of experience with Test Data Management Tools or solutions (CA DataMaker, Infosys Enterprise Data Privacy Suite, IBM Optim, or similar)
