Engineering client is looking for an Environmental Scientist with 3-5+ years of experience for a Contract assignment based out of Omaha, NE. You will support the permitting process for transportation and electric transmission line construction projects throughout Nebraska. Client is looking for candidates that are local to the Omaha area.
Responsibilities for the Scientist
Prepare studies, evaluations, NEPA and state documentation for all types and sizes of environmental projects
Develop & implement permitting strategies in support of transportation & electrical transmission line construction projects in Nebraska
You will be responsible for developing permitting strategies & schedules, managing resource survey activities, participating in public meetings, negotiating with regulatory agencies, etc...
Identify permit requirements and interrelationships, schedule permit applications, develop permitting strategies, and managing timely completion of deliverables by the permitting team
Develope the permit need assessments and permit strategies
Assess risk associated with permit strategies, project change requests and agency interactions
Monitor compliance with environmental permits issued by various Federal, State and local regulatory agencies
Requirements for the Scientist
You need 3-5+ years of experience as an Environmental Scientist, Permitting Specialist, or similar title with a focus on developing permitting strategies and schedules
BS degree in a natural resources field, environmental science, or related field from an accredited program is needed.
Experience developing permits for transportation, transmission line or similar linear construction projects would be a PLUS
You need experience in as many of the following areas as possible:Federal Highway Administration, Nebraska Department of Roads. National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), Environmental Permitting, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service Department of Energy
