Our client, a global beauty company in New York is currently seeking a Studio Manager to join their dynamic team! This role is an ongoing temporary position with a possibility to go full time.

PRIMARY PURPOSE FOR THIS POSITION: The initial point of contact for all tasks presented to the packaging artwork studio. This individual must ensure all material presented is accurate, and the associated timings are correct, otherwise they must reject back to artwork management. Managing and negotiating rushes as they occur, both verbally and in writing, they are responsible for delegating all tasks presented to the studio, maximizing internal resources before delegating to outsourcing partners. Daily reporting on what s in the studio, managing in- and throughput of artwork, and the people involved in it s creation, while simultaneously reporting back to key stakeholders on progress.

The studio manager is responsible for creating two reports per day, an AM and PM report, using Rich Client and Excel, as well as updating an evening Excel Productivity report with multiple fields of entry. Aside from the information available through Rich Client, the studio manager is responsible for retrieving daily data about completed tasks outside of their TC view for the PM Productivity report: currently includes Automated and brand tasks.

-Capture shorthand studio snapshot each day, share with ED and Directors.

-Report and track daily priorities with proofreading.

-Get a mid-day status of progress for tasks due that day by checking in with each PA individually and reporting findings back to the directors/E.D.

Working hours: Monday- Friday, 9AM-5PM

-Once timing and materials have been verified, the studio manager must assign the job to a production artist in a timely manner. This must be done in a continuous and expedited manner throughout the day.

-Studio manager must understand the complexities of what they re delegating to ensure that total workload is balanced across the studio. A keen memory for detail is required as brand programs should be kept together and with one artist, or shared by the same group of artists.

-Once task is delegated, the Studio manager shares responsibility for its completion with the appropriate Brands Director, Proofreading, and the Production artist. The ideal individual is both analytical and people oriented, as their day is divided between analyzing material presented against resources, tracking everything in the studio, and ensuring all stakeholders are constantly delivering on the agreed upon timings.

-This means a very active, on-your-feet role in tracking all jobs throughout the day and reporting those findings to the appropriate Directors and Executive Directors. While not necessarily managing anyone as a direct report, this person is managing everyone in the studio, including outsourcing partners.

- 5 years of experience in some combination of studio management, project management or traffic for print production preferably in a luxury, design driven environment

- Expert computer skills - MS Office, knowledge of all digital file formats and their best-practice applications

- real world production experience

- highly motivated, possessing a strong sense of urgency and deadline driven
