Manager of Corporate FP&A - Life Science, Boston area

$110 - 135k Base + Bonus


The Manager of Corporate FP&A is responsible for financial management of the company s Global Functions (including IT). The individual will oversee capital and operating budgets including monthly financial analysis, monthly financial close, periodic forecasting, annual planning and ad hoc business analysis.


  • Lead the monthly expense review process for all departments. Review actual monthly performance against departmental budgets and provide variance commentary.

  • Lead the development of the AOP, multi-year strategic plan and periodic forecasts.

  • Develop strong business partnerships to ensure budgets fully reflect the potential financial impact of ongoing costs and new business initiatives.

  • Build financial models and financial performance metrics that are integrated with operational data and accurate forecasting capabilities to drive process improvements in a proactive manner.

  • Prepare presentations and analysis for senior leadership to relay understanding of business drivers and overall performance.

  • Analyze current and past trends in key performance indicators; identify opportunities for financial improvement and provide recommendations to management.

  • Work with business partners to manage/drive cost savings and revenue opportunities.

  • Provide financial analysis/modeling support to business managers in preparation of business cases to support Capital Appropriations Requests.

  • Support ad-hoc requests.


  • Bachelors degree preferably a major in Accounting or Finance.

  • 6 years of accounting/finance experience is required. A minimum of 2 years management experience

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Proven track record of effective performance management.

  • Advanced financial modeling skills working in Excel and presentation skills with PowerPoint

  • A strong proficiency with financial systems (SAP/BPC experience is ideal).

  • Candidate must possess excellent analytical skills, knowledge of accounting practices, business partnering, problem solving and prioritization skills are required.
