Job Purpose:

the Business Systems Analyst III primary role is to support systems and end-users by analyzing, recommending and implementing system correction, fixes and enhancements that promote efficiency, compliance and growth. In addition, contributes expertise in business processes and system functionality. This includes coordinating activities on maintenance and troubleshooting of medium to high risk of complexity and includes the performance of activities such as requirement definition, research, analysis, coordination, testing, and documentation.

Primary Job Accountabilities/Responsibilities

  • Acts as the customer / IT liaison when system problems are reported. (25%)

  • Provides general customer and IT support for assigned business applications; deals with the most complex system problem logs; works with business and technical staff to perform effective root-cause analysis and resolution and applies business knowledge and practical experience to recommend system, product enhancements or other appropriate actions to improve efficiency and productivity for both the business and IT units (25%)

  • Able to conduct meetings with customer to establish priorities. (25%)

  • Supports the user in testing the resolution of the system problems to ensure quality of the outcome. (15%)

  • Ensures that new solves implemented in the system are documented and communicated across the Production Support team. (10%)


  • 4 - 6 years of progressive Business Systems Analyst experience in an Information Technology environment.

  • Experience in troubleshooting system problems with a variety of tools (SQL, FTP, etc.)

  • Experience in the technical and business project implementation is preferred.

  • Proficiency with the use of SQL query language.

  • Bi-Lingual in English/Portuguese is a must. Spanish is a plus.

Required skills:

  • Excels in the following business applications: MS Excel, MS Word, MS Outlook, and Visio Process Flows.

  • Ability to analyze data and draw out the root cause of the system issues and be able to proactively provide a solution, or work with the development team closely to solve the issue.

  • Ability to identify priority issues and determine which issues can be handled within the authority of an Analyst and being able to discern those issues requiring direction from a higher authority.

  • Ability to effectively manage multiple assignments and priorities.

  • Strong analytical skills, self-motivated, very strong work ethic, ability to switch effortlessly between business and technical terminology, learn quickly, multi task and meet deadlines.

  • Ability to deliver results on time and with quality.

  • High level of expertise in a variety of application and business areas.

  • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish assigned tasks and goals.

  • Manages the SDLC deliverables including, but not limited to scope, business requirements, system requirements, functional requirements and UAT testing process.

  • Works under minimal supervision.

  • Mentors and coaches lower level employees.

  • Continuous learning of new skills that add value to assignments.

  • May be assisted by lower level Analysts.
