Randstad Professionals is currently seeking an innovative staff accountant to work on site in a dynamic environment in Tysons, VA. With a strong focus on fixed assets, the staff accountant will be part of a collaborative team responsible for the daily accounting functions and intangible property for the company's portfolio's consisting of corporate assets totaling over $8 billion.


  • Review and identify ways to improve processes and increase efficiency on a continuous basis

  • Collaborate with hotels and regional finance staff when rejecting items for capitalization

  • Ensure assets are being capitalized in accordance with GAAP and company policy by reviewing capital requests

  • Ensure assets in the fixed asset system are being depreciated or amortized in the appropriate asset categories

  • Guarantee assets are being transferred from CIP to the Fixed Asset system by monitoring balances in Construction in Progress (CIP)

  • Prep monthly Fixed Asset Roll forward Reports and identify items that need review

  • Review capital budgets to ensure they are prepared in accordance with company policies

  • Create other required monthly reports related to fixed and intangible assets as requested by management or for audit purposes (i.e. additions, disposals, Net Book Value reports, depreciation expense)

  • Monitor the status and completion of all tasks, respecting the established deadlines.

  • Establish the workflow process documentation for stakeholders to manage the capital process from approval, purchasing, payment, and adding or disposing assets


  • Four-year accounting degree or equivalent

  • At least 2 years' experience in Finance & Accounting

  • Strong organizational, problem-solving and communication skills

  • Ability to comfortably work in a deadline-driven environment

  • PeopleSoft and Hyperion Financial Management Experience (preferred)

  • Fixed asset accounting and reconciliation experience (preferred)

  • Experience in a detail oriented, high volume business (preferred)

  • Understanding of REITs or multi-ownership entities (preferred)

  • Ability to identify and implement process improvements (preferred)
