NetNumber, Inc. has an immediate opening for a Senior OpenStack Engineer/Administrator, located in the Greater Lowell, MA area.

Job Overview:

This is a hands-on position that requires a candidate who is comfortable in a fast paced, focused, agile software engineering environment. Responsibilities include working with a team of engineers to verify NetNumber solutions - high speed, carrier grade IP and SS7 network based applications for TITAN products.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Establish a solution test environment - servers, OS and OpenStack for verifying TITAN products.

  • Owns all technical aspects of platform design and configuration.

  • Work with, train, and guide others in the installation, configuration, administration, and troubleshooting of OpenStack.

  • Understand OpenStack ecosystem, engage in discussions with the OpenStack community, implement best practices.

  • Troubleshoot encountered issues and provide solutions.

  • Drive consensus on the evaluation, selection, and adoption for new product introduction and methodology.

Desired Skills and Experience:

BSCS/MSCS in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent experience

The successful candidate must have:

  • Excellent written and communications skills

  • 5+ years of in a Software Development role (specific to networking)

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience with OpenStack (Mitaka, Liberty, Kilo) and related projects of OVS, Heat, Fuel, Murano, OpenDaylight, OpenContrail; Hypervisors (ESXi, KVM); NFV orchestration

  • Knowledge about OpenStack Services: Nova, Neutron, Keystone, Swift, Cinder, Glance, Horizon, Ceilometer, Heat

  • Knowledge of software development life cycle including basic knowledge of programming languages like (Python, Perl, Java, C)

  • Hands-on experience with Linux administration

  • Hands-on experience with IP Networking

  • Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills

This position requires a self-starter that can function both independently and as part of a team.
