Our client is looking for an analytical professional with a knack for numbers. Maintaining financial records falls on the hands of those who are detailed and natural born problem solvers. The Accounting Clerk is a permanent position providing a comprehensive benefits package and a probationary period allowing the opportunity to ensure the position will be a long term fit.


The Accounting Clerk will be responsible for providing accounting support to accounting supervisors and other managers within the department. Keys daily worksheets to the general ledger system, ensures files are complete and maintained as needed, handles accounts payable duties, and assists accounting personnel.

Primary responsibilities of the Accounting Clerk

--Research, track, and resolve accounting problems

--Compile and sort invoices and checks

--Prepare and email invoices

--Assist with preparing and processing daily deposit

--Post and balance payments

--Review GL report for adjustment application errors

--Post monthly adjustments

--Research refund requests, prepare adjustment and check requests

--Record business transactions and key daily worksheets to the general ledger system

--Contact individuals with delinquent accounts

--Ensure customers accept payments or refunds

--Perform month-end closing on accounts payable

--Ensure accuracy on reconciliation of the general ledger for A/P and A/R

--Enhance the monitoring system for the cost of inventory and discrepancies to protect gross profit

--Negotiate payment discounts with vendors

Working hours: Monday through Friday 8 am to 5 pm


Requirements of the Accounting Clerk

--2 plus years of accounting/billing experience

--Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills

--Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word and Excel required)

--Must have knowledge of billing and financial concepts

--Works well in an environment with firm deadlines; results oriented

--Strong analytical skills required

--Education and Experience

--High school diploma required
