The Business Analyst performs complex business process analysis with internal customers to gather business requirements for use in identifying innovative technology solutions to meet business needs. This position also acts as a liaison between business and technical IT teams. There are over 50 projects on the docket, some large, some small. Must be capable of juggling a few projects at a time. Excellent communication skills.

Principal responsibilities include:

  • Research and investigate updates, revisions and service packs for software programs and applications when necessary.

  • Lead work groups in business process analysis to determine and implement the business needs of customers and the changes, additions, and improvements that are needed for the business systems.

  • Recommend technology solutions to meet the business needs of the departments, documents those needs and the resulting changes needed to computer systems.

  • Determine operational objectives by studying business functions; gather information; evaluate input and output requirements and formats.

  • Assist with the business case for new and upgrading IT systems and software.

  • Conduct cost/benefit analysis.

  • Identify various user problems and make appropriate recommendations.

  • Define project requirements by identifying requirements analysis, project milestones, phases, and elements; help forms project teams, help establish project budget.

  • Participate in upgrade/replacement/ new implementation projects by tracking activity; resolving problems; publishing progress reports; recommending actions.

  • Evaluate and plan systems training for upgrade/replacement/ new implementation projects.

  • Design, plan and conduct end user training in technical systems variety of software systems on desktop and laptop computers.

  • Elicit business and users requirements via interviews, workshops, questionnaires, surveys, department visits, workflow storyboards, use cases, process modeling, analysis of existing systems and documentation and other methods.

  • Develop, document and maintain materials and knowledge bases.

  • Work with internal and external customers to build integrated multi-disciplined teams.
