Electrical Controls Project Engineer opportunity with a manufacturing client in the food & beverage industry. This position will be responsible for the strategic and hands on work supporting multiple plants across the Midwest and Northeastern US in modernizing controls, putting together controls standards, and large capital projects that could include greenfield/brownfield plants. Position will involve approximately 75% travel and candidates should live in close proximity to a major airport. Client offers great benefits and the position is bonus eligible.
Responsibilities for the Electrical Engineer
Planning, implementation, operation, and maintenance of process control/electrical engineering for new site construction, expansion, and equipment and facility design or renovation
Provide management with information/guidance on all aspects of controls/electrical design/construction and maintenance matters.
Develop, organize, and maintain process controls/electrical engineering specifications/standards and process equipment operational parameters
Develop and manage the implementation of overall process control/electrical engineering plans and projects
Maintain capital budget and equipment schedules in accordance with plant construction, expansion, and/or new product objectives
Serve as a technical authority on process controls/electrical engineering matters.
Provide technical expertise to assist all plants to continuously improve their process control, utility, operations, and energy management to reduce usage, improve quality, and reduce their overall cost of operation
Other duties may be assigned as required.
Requirements for the Electrical Engineer
Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering
Approximately 7 or more years of multi-discipline engineering and technical experience in the food industry, including plant capital projects and/or expansion
Expert knowledge on power system design and maintenance plan, electrical one-line, schematics design, HMI programming (RSView, FT View), PLC-5 / CLX programming, electrical equipment including Pump/VSD maintenance, and instrumentation
Working knowledge of the utility technology including Power System, Water treatment, Boiler house, Cooling System, and Air supply system
Working knowledge electrical and process engineering with a strong emphasis on process controls
Strong project management skills including ability to manage multi-plant projects simultaneously
Creative thinker with the ability to drive innovation close in and further out (ability to think ahead and plan over a 1-3 year time frame)
Willingness to travel as needed approximately 75%
