Position Summary : The Business Analyst is responsible for managing all aspects of collecting, refining and prioritizing business requirements for a portfolio of store projects.
This role fosters strong partnerships with our internal business partners, quality assurance analysts and technical teams to develop artifacts such as functional requirements, business process flows, stakeholder analysis, training and communication materials for assigned projects. The Business Analyst must have excellent analytical skills, along with keen attention to detail and outstanding written and oral communication abilities.
Responsible for managing all aspects of the business requirements process.
Creates the business requirements document
Leads "As Is" and "To Be" functional and cross functional sessions; clearly identifies gaps and business impacts.
An understanding of Store Systems/POS and how it interfaces with downstream Financial Systems.
Understands the difference between and drives clarity in functional and non-functional requirements.
Drives clarity in gaps / issues to be resolved and creates cross functional alignment in priorities.
Fosters team work and collaboration to develop comprehensive solutions.
Monitors the risk and potential for scope and solution change.
Acts as primary liaison to negotiate the need for any changes throughout the project.
Clearly communicates the implications of the change, utilizing a formal change control process to document, review and gain approval for postponing.
Partners with quality assurance team for test planning and execution of the overall solution.
Works with the QA team member to ensure traceability of requirements through test execution.
Monitors the solution in warranty and assesses defects for missed requirement or missed testing.
Partners with business for evaluating change management needs and training.
As solution develops, partners with business for change impact assessment and supports developing change management plans, communications and training.
Store Operations / POS (Point of Sale) Projects:
Coupon Management - Implement a coupon management system that will enforce coupons policies at POS; for example coupon expiration.
Enhance marketing capabilities by linking credit card information to customer information
Enhanced marketing capabilities by creating ability to pre-sell merchandise at the point of sale
Technical project to decommission a underutilized server within our stores
Experience implementing mid to large size retail business application projects
System Knowledge Preferred; Oracle Retail Point of Sale or MICROS, PCI/DSS standards and compliance. Knowledge of Card Schemes (VISA, MasterCard) is desired.
Business Process Knowledge Preferred; Vendor Management, Sales Audit, Payments processing, Settlement and Reconciliation.
Experience using MS Office tools to capture and document requirements; i.e. Word, Excel, Visio
Experience using HP ALM/Quality Center for requirements documentation and traceability through test cases
