Our client, a publicly traded government contractor in the Metro DC area has an immediate need for a VP, Corporate Controller to lead the entire accounting function to include: Operational Accounting, Managerial Accounting, Technical Accounting and SEC Reporting. The ideal candidate will have strong business acumen, executive polish and presence, capable of motiving a large staff and be technically proficient in all aspects of government contract accounting including DCAA Compliance. An active CPA is REQUIRED.


  • Oversee the global accounting operations and related activities, including both technical (General Ledger, Consolidations, Revenue Compliance, SEC Reporting, etc.) and transactional (Accounts Payable, Billing and Accounts Receivable, Payroll, etc.) accounting functions

  • Ensure the timely and accurate preparation of financial statements and support executive management with Earnings Calls and investor meetings

  • Review and continually improve SOX Controls Own existing accounting systems and lead ongoing transformation efforts to streamline accounting systems and drive related efficiencies throughout the company

  • Lead the submission of the SEC filings

  • Ensure the compliance of the Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) program

  • Prepare data for the Earnings Release and Earnings Calls including schedule control

  • Provide guidance to the Audit Committee.

  • Lead due diligence and integration efforts associated with the accounting function of M&A activities

  • Ensure that Valuation Model/Forecast from M&A department and Operating Group are consistent.


  • 10+ years of experience leading an Accounting department for a mid-sized company

  • 15+ years of direct staff management experience and proven ability to effectively lead resources from other parts of the company

  • Active CPA

  • Demonstrated expertise in financial analysis and corporate finance; experience with consolidations

  • Experience working within a publicly traded company

  • Government Contracting experience and working knowledge of FAR and CAS

  • Bachelor s Degree in Accounting or Finance.
