Seeking an ambitious Experience Senior Accountant for a growing and complex mission based organization!

This role will be a key member of the Finance team with primary focus on producing financial information and providing actionable financial analysis and decision support to management. Responsible for ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting, compliance with policies, and maintaining and enhancing a strong control environment. In addition, the Senior Accountant will be responsible for accounting activities including the monthly close, account reconciliations, and supporting the year-end audit.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage the monthly close process including but not limited to preparation of journal entries, fixed asset accounting, balance sheet reconciliations and monitoring of reserves

  • Assist in inventory valuation and monthly inventory reconciliations

  • Responsible for financial reporting, including consolidation of all entities

  • Coordinate with international accounting advisors and ensure timely posting of international entity transactions

  • Assist in financial reporting preparation and distribution, including actual vs budget and forecast reporting

  • Assist in budgeting and forecasting, including some financial modeling

  • Assist Operations in maintaining the Procurement and Inventory Management SAP modules

  • Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles

  • Develop and communicate policies and procedures to the appropriate audience when necessary

  • Provide accounting support for the Accounts Payable function in multi-company, multi-currency environment when needed

  • Assist with property and other miscellaneous tax filings

  • Prepare supporting documentation and analyses for annual audit and tax returns

  • Maintain the fixed asset module, including depreciation schedules, recording of new purchases and disposals, and reconciliation to asset tagging

  • Assist the Controller and HR department with payroll related items

  • Maintain files as needed within the Finance department

  • Assist with revenue recognition policy implementation and revenue reporting when applicable

  • Assist in implementation of billing and collections process

  • Other special projects and responsibilities as assigned

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor s degree in accounting or finance

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in finance/accounting

  • Must be highly skilled in use of Excel and in dealing with financial data

  • Must be able to maintain accuracy and attention to detail in performing all functions of this position

  • Must be able to work well both independently and in a team setting

  • Must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

  • Must have excellent work habits and strong customer service focus

  • Must have the ability to handle multiple tasks with rapidly changing priorities and deadlines

  • Must have strong organization skills

  • Must have ability to maintain confidentiality of information and exercise good judgment and discretion in the handling and dissemination of information

  • Must have strong analytical skills

  • Working knowledge of SAP a plus
