The Process Controls and Reliability Engineer, under the direction of the Engineering/Reliability/Maintenance Leader, is a technical professional who is responsible for the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of a very dynamic manufacturing process by safely maximizing production volume and minimizing quality variations through the successful implementation of automated control systems and dynamic reliability processes. This Engineer is an hourly position that provides plant technical line optimizations, downtime analysis, and troubleshooting support. The primary focus of this position is to achieve high standards of process reliability and automation efficiencies in a safe manner to deliver high quality fiberglass basis mat to our owners. This position is intended to provide bench-strength staff leadership.
Associates Degree in Electrical, Automation, Controls, or Industrial Engineering preferred.
2-5 year s relevant engineering experience.
Experienced with Continuous Improvement methodologies such as 6 Sigma and LEAN.
Demonstrated knowledge and success with leading a dynamic process reliability system.
Experience implementing and programming PLCs (Siemens S7 preferred).
Experience and knowledge of HMI programming (Invensys Wonderware Intouch preferred).
Experience using data historian packages (Invensys Wonderware Historian preferred).
Experience with incident analysis methodologies (root cause analysis/cause mapping preferred).
Demonstrated knowledge and experience with instrumentation measurement methodologies.
Demonstrated knowledge of feedback and PID control and tuning methodology.
Designs and developments automated solutions for various applications.
Installs, configures, and maintains computerized control systems and micro-processors.
Implements, and maintains control networks using smart components and fieldbus technologies.
Develops and implements recipe and batch processing solutions at the PLC and HMI Levels.
Analyzes equipment performance using trending software and other system tools.
Participates actively in daily production meetings and partners with the business to safely improve productivity.
Recommends and implements process improvement solutions.
Communicates technical topics effectively to non-technical personnel.
Provide technical training to plant personnel.
Interfaces with vendors in the resolution of issues or the implementation of new solutions.
Support the Line Reliability effort and champion root cause failure analysis to identify areas of excessive failure risk and propose design opportunities.
Provide project technical support for the design, development, cost estimation, installation, and start-up for new projects and upgrades.
Ensure plant Process Safety and Risk Management objectives are practiced on a daily basis.
Develops procedures and methods for the diagnosis and resolution of instrumentation and reliability issues.
Maintains subject matter expertise through continued education and advanced technical training.
A proven team player with ability to interact with all levels of management, clients, and vendors.
Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to be applied in design, programming and troubleshooting of automation systems.
Possess skills in electronics, electrical troubleshooting, mechanics, fluidics, and industrial controls.
Experience and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
