Infrastructure Systems Administrator/Columbus, OH:


The IT Infrastructure Administrator will provide expertise, design, engineering, support, and troubleshooting of virtual application, virtual desktop, and virtual server environments. The position requires an individual with a broad knowledge of Windows server environments and various virtualization technologies, keen troubleshooting skills, and solid interpersonal and communication skills. Specific duties will include:

  • Participate in the planning, building, testing, and implementation of images in the virtual desktop (VDI) environment.

  • Provide troubleshooting and issue resolution for virtual environments.

  • Facilitate knowledge sharing by creating and maintaining detailed and comprehensive documentation and diagrams. Maintain expert level of knowledge in area of expertise.

  • Respond quickly and effectively to production issues and take responsibility for seeing those issues through resolution.

  • Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of the virtualization environment, related applications and projects.


  • BS/BA degree and 5+ years of Information Technology experience.

  • Experience with VMware vCenter, vSphere, and Horizon View

  • Understanding and preferable experience with both persistent and non-persistent VDI

  • Experience supporting thin or zero clients through a management console

  • Strong Windows desktop OS troubleshooting skills and experience

  • Excellent customer service skills

  • Must have excellent teaming skills. Will be required to integrate with the team and be aware of impact to service

  • Skill utilizing software diagnostic tools and the ability to conduct appropriate troubleshooting processes and conduct appropriate upgrades

  • Experience maintaining Microsoft Windows desktop and server OS patches with patch management software (SCCM, Etc.)

  • Ability to maintain accurate records

  • Ability to effectively communicate with customers, vendors, and other IT administrators

  • Knowledge and experience in testing methodologies, including the ability to troubleshoot and identify solutions for issues

  • Knowledge or experience with applying user- centered design processes

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment and interact with diverse customers understanding the business domain

  • Demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize, and follow through to completion on multiple tasks independently, often under strict deadlines

  • Ability to effectively work with remote team members and leadership

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Flexibility and adaptability to handle competing work demands

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate to nontechnical audience on technical issues

  • Ability to work flexible hours and be on-call
