Infrastructure Systems Administrator/Columbus, OH:
The IT Infrastructure Administrator will provide expertise, design, engineering, support, and troubleshooting of virtual application, virtual desktop, and virtual server environments. The position requires an individual with a broad knowledge of Windows server environments and various virtualization technologies, keen troubleshooting skills, and solid interpersonal and communication skills. Specific duties will include:
Participate in the planning, building, testing, and implementation of images in the virtual desktop (VDI) environment.
Provide troubleshooting and issue resolution for virtual environments.
Facilitate knowledge sharing by creating and maintaining detailed and comprehensive documentation and diagrams. Maintain expert level of knowledge in area of expertise.
Respond quickly and effectively to production issues and take responsibility for seeing those issues through resolution.
Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of the virtualization environment, related applications and projects.
THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS MUST BE MET TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION:
BS/BA degree and 5+ years of Information Technology experience.
Experience with VMware vCenter, vSphere, and Horizon View
Understanding and preferable experience with both persistent and non-persistent VDI
Experience supporting thin or zero clients through a management console
Strong Windows desktop OS troubleshooting skills and experience
Excellent customer service skills
Must have excellent teaming skills. Will be required to integrate with the team and be aware of impact to service
Skill utilizing software diagnostic tools and the ability to conduct appropriate troubleshooting processes and conduct appropriate upgrades
Experience maintaining Microsoft Windows desktop and server OS patches with patch management software (SCCM, Etc.)
Ability to maintain accurate records
Ability to effectively communicate with customers, vendors, and other IT administrators
Knowledge and experience in testing methodologies, including the ability to troubleshoot and identify solutions for issues
Knowledge or experience with applying user- centered design processes
Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment and interact with diverse customers understanding the business domain
Demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize, and follow through to completion on multiple tasks independently, often under strict deadlines
Ability to effectively work with remote team members and leadership
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Flexibility and adaptability to handle competing work demands
Demonstrated ability to communicate to nontechnical audience on technical issues
Ability to work flexible hours and be on-call
