Plans and designs server and virtual system architecture.
Architects computers and servers that are cost-effective, robust and in-line with the Information Services general plans, architecture, and strategy.
Maintains all computers and servers, and mobile devices, ensuring maximum performance and system integrity.
Researches and recommends new technology that is appropriate and consistent with IS strategy.
Coordinates, directs and assists with the implementation of all new and existing technology as directed by the Director of IT Infrastructure.
Updates computer and server infrastructure and components as needed to maintain cost-effective performance, compliance with vendor support contracts and enterprise-wide system integrity.
Monitors server system components that are critical to the ongoing, smooth performance of computing infrastructure.
Evaluates vendor hardware, software and proposals for completeness and compliance with stated objectives.
Participates as a member of the Incident Management Team.
Prepares work plans, set priorities and schedule resources; support staff in resolution of issues affecting work schedules.
Performs reviews as needed and as required by HR.
Participates in hiring, firing and discipline of staff.
Provides functional and technical guidance to staff and project teams.
Identifies opportunities and plans for training both in individual groups and across groups to insure redundancy and effective support. Written training plans should be shared at least once every six months so time can be scheduled.
Ensures that ITIL standards are utilized.
Maintains excellent working relationship with all employees, vendors and third party
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Bachelor s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline - OR - May substitute work experience if deemed of adequate complexity and responsibility.
8 + years experience designing and implementing Windows servers in a highly complex, multi-site, client server environment.
8 + years experience designing PC builds, packaging software for PCs, electronically deploying software and troubleshooting complex PC issues.
8+ years experience managing Active Directory.
Experience with and ability to program or script in multiple languages including, Visual Basic, HTML (other languages may substitute per Director/Group Manger).
Experience with databases such as Microsoft SQL and/or Oracle.
Experience with large Citrix environments.
Experience and understanding of SAN/NAS infrastructure and fabrics.
Experience and understanding of VMWare vSphere infrastructure and/or other virtual infrastructures.
Experience with Novell GroupWise environments and/or other email systems.
Experience with Epic Hyperspace environments as it relates to Citrix and Wintel components.
Experience leading technical projects involving staff from multiple disciplines, is highly desirable.
