The CRM and Email Marketing manager will provide strategic leadership and lead the internal and external business partners in the planning, strategy, production, execution, reporting and analysis of CRM databases and outbound email marketing.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:

Strategy and Management

  • Ability to review and analyze CRM databases in order to carry out segmentation of the database and implement customer strategies

  • Customer journey mapping with the ability to analyze optimal touchpoints for communication

  • Strategize, develop, and manage email marketing initiatives in partnership with cross-functional teams and business units

  • Lead multi-channel tactics to promote engagement, retention and loyalty across email marketing, web and mobile communication and loyalty programs

  • Develop and implement email lifecycle automation and triggered programs

  • Drive optimal segmentation for all email marketing campaigns

  • Lead the improvement of email channel performance and advancement of capabilities based on new technologies and processes

  • Manage the relationship with our external email vendors and as as subject matter expert in email best practices. Understanding and ability to educate others on CAN-SPAM, CASL and other email requirements

  • Lead email acquisition and increase email penetration

  • Lead, hire, train a team of email marketing specialists and strategists, with the ability to provide production support when needed based on workflow

  • Active involvement in writing new business proposals

  • Manage the email process workflow including development of email/content calendars, collaborating with project management, creative and copy teams and working with QA to test email assets

  • Lead internal and external meetings - weekly client meetings, internal brainstorming sessions, calendar planning sessions.

  • Establish email performance benchmarks, deliver reporting and insights that accurately measures the delivery and performance of each email campaign on a daily, weekly and/or monthly basis and recommend actions to improve email performance

  • Drive and optimize key traffic and revenue metrics including CTR, open rates, engagement and retention

  • Monitor email deliverability and list hygiene for all clients to ensure optimal inbox placement

Required Experience and Qualifications:

  • 5-8 years of email and CRM marketing experience

  • Experience with ESP and CRM platforms such as Salesforce/Exact Target/Marketing Cloud, Oracle/Responsys, Listrak

  • Experience in editing HTML or working with complex filter designer logic

  • Database knowledge and experience (SQL, Import/Export, list merge/purge)

  • Development skills including HTML/CSS expertise

  • Data and results-driven with exceptional detail and knowledge around metrics, a/b testing and ROI analysis

  • Direct marketing and multi-channel marketing experience

  • Excellent client service and problem solving skills in order to minimize problem escalation to senior team members and ability to provide recommendations for resolution

  • Superior organizational and interpersonal skills as well as strong written and verbal communication abilities in order to work with a broad array of client, agency, and vendor contacts

  • Passion for online/email marketing and strong knowledge of internet marketing

  • Proven ability to prioritize multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment

  • BA or BS required

  • Strong analytic and organizational skills

  • Exceptional attention to detail

  • Excellent computer skills, familiarity with Word, Excel, PowerPoint

  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, dynamic environment
