Sr Manager of SEC Reporting

$100 - 130k Base + Bonus + Equity Potential

The Senior SEC Reporting Manager will be responsible for the Company s external reporting function, including the responsibility for technical accounting research and documentation. This individual will assist in establishing and maintaining accounting policies, internal control documentation, best practices and procedures.

Key Accountabilities

  • Manage the external financial reporting process and prepare the external financial statements tables and related note disclosures for 1O-Qs, 1O-Ks, 8-Ks, press releases and other SEC filings

  • Ensure compliance with SEC/US GAAP accounting and reporting requirements for financial statements, MD&A and notes

  • Work closely with external auditors on all SEC filings

  • Proactively research technical accounting and reporting matters; stay current on all pending/new accounting and SEC requirements and analyze potential impact on the Company s financial reporting

  • Responsible for writing comprehensive position papers and perform ad hoc analyses

  • Manage the company s stock option and equity plans

  • Ensures SOX compliance for financial reporting process

  • Attends training and develops relevant knowledge and skills

  • Participate in special projects and ad hoc reporting as necessary

Qualifications and Experience

  • 6+ years of relevant experience with a public company

  • Bachelor s degree in accounting/finance; CPA is preferred

  • Public accounting experience in a Big 4 national or regional accounting firm highly preferred

  • Proven attention to detail, strong organizational skills, an ability to provide professional customer service to internal and external customers alike

  • Extensive knowledge of GAAP, internal control systems, financial reporting and SEC compliance

  • The ability to clearly and concisely document technical accounting and reporting matters

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written

  • Be able to meet the rigorous deadlines of a public company, multitask and prioritize responsibilities

  • Advanced Excel skills
