Randstad Professionals is actively seeking a Senior Project Accountant for a long term consulting opportunity for a well established real estate investment firm in downtown Boston. Compensation is negotiable depending on experience.
The role of the Senior Project Accountant is to provide an initial level of compliance and checks and balances oversight for project specific financial transactions. This role reporting to the Controller supports the regional finance team and project team and plays a key role in tracking and reporting on projects financial performance.
Senior Project Accountant Job Functions:
-Oversee risk management for the project, specifically with subcontractors, review contract amounts, manage the col ection of payment verification/lien documentation and proper insurance requirements to mitigate risks, exposures, etc.
-Setup initial job budgets, related change orders and process cost transfers. Drive compliance with subcontract and PO process.
-Process monthly client and subcontractor applications for payment, including the use of AIA templates.
-Review open job commitments and prepare job status reports for management review.
-Lead the accounting on job close out process.
-Work closely with project managers on project accounting and administrative issues.
-Assist in the month end close process and balance sheet account reconciliations.
-Manage and process accounts payable while ensuring proper general ledger coding and 1099 vendor requirements.
-Manage pay if paid process to ensure subcontractors are paid in accordance with client
-Research state and local sales and use tax requirements and ensure compliance on jobs.
-Make recommendations to increase operational efficiency and accuracy for project financials.
-Bachelor s Degree with a concentration in Accounting/Finance
-3 to 8 years of related experience; project accounting experience preferred; knowledge of construction accounting valued
