As a core team member of the Sales Business Solutions team the Production Release Project Manager will focus on Salesforce.com, providing project management expertise and technical knowledge to support the maintenance and enhancement of an innovative, high quality solution to the Sales organization. This individual will be responsible for the project management of maintenance, patch, and production releases as well as will support system configuration, test execution, and documentation development. This individual will work collaboratively with both internal team members and with vendor partners to ensure delivery of releases that are on-time and in-scope. The SalesForce Production Release Project Manager must have the ability to work as part of a collaborative team in order to be successful. This individual must be very pro-active, have initiative, and be cable of engaging partners to ensure tasks and deliverables are met, risks are appropriately managed, and leadership is abreast of progress against deadlines. Additionally, this individual must be willing to roll-up their sleeves to support SalesForce configuration, dashboard and report development, system testing, and the development of key artifacts including configuration workbooks, report inventories, and related documents.
Key responsibilities for this position include:
Project Management :
Develop project plans for and manage the execution of regular maintenance/production releases for the SalesForce.com platform, acting in the capacity of Project Manager and serving as the point of contact for escalating resource needs, impacts and risks to appropriate internal stakeholders. In coordination with cross-functional teams, this individual will document maintenance release scope, develop and manage release timelines, work with our vendor and IT partners to assess the impact of releases to existing users, and coordinate with the Project Manager, SFDC Training and Adoption to enable the development of release communications and training plans.
Coordinate with IT and our vendor partner to ensure the readiness of development environments in support of our maintenance / production releases.
Coordinate "hot" or "patch" releases to resolve critical defects with impacted parties including impacted stakeholders, members of the SalesForce Team, IT, and our vendor partners.
Update existing and create new SalesForce Administrative Knowledge Articles in support of maintenance/production support releases.
Salesforce Solution Configuration:
Execute configuration changes within client s SalesForce.com instance in support of maintenance, production, and patch releases and provide testing support as needed.
Develop new and modify existing Salesforce dashboards and reports for the business users and leaders; analyze and design reports to help the leaders plan and forecast to help drive future decision making.
Support the management of existing and development of new user roles, profiles, and chatter groups to enable optimal user experiences aligned to client s strategy for engaging unique user groups.
Qualifications: (Knowledge, skills and abilities)
Demonstrated experience with SalesForce.com including system configuration, dashboard and report development, testing (unit, functional, and regression), and user management
Experience and comfort with researching and analysing SalesForce system defects both through engagement with platform users and analysis of existing system configuration/code base
Demonstrated success in managing multi-faceted projects focused on the achievement of external and internal customer requirements.
Mastery of project management deliverables such as project plans, workflow analysis, system implications, risk identification and management.
Must be detail-oriented with very strong analytical skills and possess the ability to understand the details of the project/requirements and not just manage tasks
Must have strong leadership skills, a high level of initiative, and be results oriented
Must be able to drive decisions, effectively manage meetings and own meeting follow-up
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to be able to communicate effectively with all audiences, including senior management
Bachelor s degree in computer science, business management, or a related field
At least five years of SalesForce configuration experience
At least five years of demonstrated project management experience
PMI certification is a plus
SalesForce.com Certified Administrator credential is a plus
SalesForce.com Configuration Certification is a plus
