DescriptionOpportunity located at a prestigious medical center in Boston, the Sr.Grant Administrator will assist with pre-award grant submissions and will independently manage of post-award grant administration. This includes, but is not limited to, overseeing purchasing, preparation and execution of sub-awards and contracts, coordination of financial duties associated with research including account set up, progress reports, track and post expenditures, account reconciliation, preparation of accurate and timely expenditure estimates and projections, invoice processing, and expenditure reimbursements including travel.
1.Manages budget preparation, account reconciliation, variance analysis, monthly and quarterly reporting, A/P, A/R, and the posting of personnel on numerous grant accounts and program sub-accounts.
2.Monitors, analyzes, reconciles and projects budgets and expenditures. Identifies and corrects errors as needed.
3.Liaises with financial and administrative offices onsite and other community organizations to coordinate financial processes such as subcontracts, invoices, and joint appointments.
4.Develops and prepares accurate and timely financial reports and prepares adhoc reports as needed to support budgeting and planning processes.
5.Assists with establishment of subcontracts and monitors spending, invoicing, and close-out of subcontracts, including amendments as needed.
6.Prepares re-budget requests and subcontract amendments.
7.Monitors and projects program revenues.
8.Oversees and manages fee for service billing activities.

9.Manages purchasing and vendor relations. Works with third party vendors on invoice issues.
10.Works closely with onsite Research Administration, Research Finance, Sponsored Programs Accounting & Research Administration to monitor multiple grant and financial systems and to provide appropriate documentation as needed.
11.Reconciles multi-organizational fringe benefit, indirect cost rates and policies, and fiscal year reporting
12. Pre-award responsibilities include grant proposal preparation, such as assisting with budget development, review of application requirements, required forms, and other administrative aspects of the proposal process.
13.Maintains, updates, and customizes grant application information, including biographical sketches, other support pages, and resource/environment information for faculty and key personnel.
14.Identifies and implements policies, processes, and procedures needing refinement and/or enhancement.
15.May perform other job related duties as requested or required.
JOB KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
1)BA/BS degree is preferred. Master's degree desirable.
2)7 plus years of research administration or related experience.
3)Experience in academia or healthcare required.
4)Expert knowledge of Excel and QuickBooks applications.
5)An advanced understanding of accounting principles.
6)Analytical skills, strong orientation to detail, and ability to manage/prioritize multiple projects.
7)Strong communication skills and the ability to interact with senior executives.
8)Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of customers as well as with technical personnel.-
9)Ability to learn new software packages required; knowledge of Lawson or PeopleSoft preferred.
