Network Infrastructure Engineer


  • Deep experience with Cisco / Nexus infrastructure.

  • Deploy and support the production switches, routers, load balancers, Intrusion Prevention Systems and firewalls.

  • Work on optimization and tuning of systems for maximizing performance and throughput.

  • Build automation via Perl / Python Scripting.

  • Design, implement, and manage complex networks, systems and configurations in a multi-site environment.

  • Build and support real time monitoring and alerting solutions.

  • Create and maintain high-quality documentation of all relevant specifications, systems, and procedures.

  • Provide assistance in maintaining Corporate IT network infrastructure if requested.

  • Support on call rotation and provide assistance in troubleshooting production issues to 24/7 monitoring team.


  • BS or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Engineering or hard sciences.

  • 4+ years of experience in an engineer operations role within a production ops team.

  • 3+ years of hands on experience with Network technologies.

  • CCNA required, CCNP preferred.

  • Ability to work in a highly collaborative team environment of Engineers.

  • Strong familiarity with Linux systems environment (i.e. IPTables).

  • Deep knowledge of TCP/IP network protocols and common system protocols such as snmp, smtp, bind, ftp, ssh, http, rcp.

  • Experience with Cisco Catalyst and Nexus infrastructure, Extreme and Dell switches.

  • Experience with F5 load balancers, TopLayer IPS and ASA/PIX firewalls.

  • Experience with L2/L3 design and troubleshooting.

  • Experience with HSRP, VRRP, GLBP, STP, 802.1Q, VPC, LACP, creating ACLs.

  • Deep knowledge of routing protocols such as BGP, EIGRP and OSPF.

  • Experience with SSL and IPSEC VPN P2P and P2MP.

  • Strong knowledge of operating system and network concepts including NFS, HTTP, TCP.

  • Familiarity with Fiber Channel, Zoning and Zonesets.

  • Working knowledge with Red Hat / CentOS.

  • Nagios, Cacti, Ganglia skills are a plus.

  • Ability to troubleshoot issues in complex production environments.

  • Participate in network and systems technology evaluation & selection.

  • Ability to plan, document, and execute tasks effectively given minimum supervision within a structured, highly available environment.
