DescriptionThe Patient Access Coordinator performs accurate and efficient Inpatient and Outpatient registration. Ensures that all patients are properly and courteously registered, insurance and other financial data is accurately documented and registration documents are properly processed and distributed. Ensures coordination of appropriate room assignments. Ensures adequate staffing of the Registration department.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Coordinates work assignments. Oversees employee workflow and facilitates problem resolution. Maintains staff productivity and accuracy statistics.
Participates in the development and implementation of department policies and procedures. Serves as advisor to associates with both new or revised departmental policies and procedures.
Interacts as needed with hospital physicians, ancillary departments, nursing units, Central Scheduling, Case Management and other health care entities as needed or assigned by manager/director.
Working hours: 8:30am - 5pm
2+ years of previous administrative work in a Hospital or Medical environment is required. Experience working with patients, insurance companies and helping manage physicians schedules is desired.
