Position Description: This is a Senior Quality Assurance Analyst position on a Delivery Team within the CNN BEST META Development organization. This team builds and maintains mission-critical video content supply chain systems for Turner's entertainment networks. Sample deliverables for the team include systems that handle ingest of content received from distributors/studios, automation of transcoding to/from various video formats, automation of quality control, automation of workflows for content customization (edit), and the implementation/maintenance of a master video library for all of the networks' content. We are building the next generation of these solutions, and in doing so, we are moving to the Amazon Web Services Cloud. Our architecture will include heavy usage of lambda, API Gateway, S3, RDS, DynamoDB and certainly other AWS capabilities. The Senior Quality Assurance Analyst works as a Scrum Delivery Team member, applying practical experience in the key disciplines of quality assurance to deliver incremental but complete pieces of business value to stakeholders. A Senior Quality Assurance Analyst not only demonstrates the skills and knowledge of a seasoned functional and regression black box tester but also growth and abilities with the tools and techniques used in white box testing. The Delivery Team is cross-functional DevOps team and owns the development, delivery, support, and maintenance of the products it delivers throughout a given product's lifecycle. Some on-call responsibility may be required for deployment time smoke testing of systems.
Qualifications: -At least five years in software development, business analysis, support, or related IT experience, with at least 2 years direct QA experience. -Advanced skills and experience with automated versioning and defect tracking software tools as well as a demonstrated ability to create automated test scripts. -Ability to successfully perform the QA role across multiple, complex system implementations with custom and third-party applications. -Advanced analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills with complex projects, highly integrated ecosystems, and asynchronous workflows. -Ability to directly test web APIs with tools like Postman, SoapUI, Swagger, and/or curl Ability to understand and author XML (including XSD), JSON, and yaml documents -Ability to understand schema (where applicable) and extract/inspect data from data sources such as SQL Server, MongoDB, AWS DynamoDB, and Oracle. -Power User/Light Admin level skills with Windows 7/8/10 and Windows Server 2008/2012 R2. Must be able to RDP to remote machines, find logs, check on the state of services, etc. -Light Developer level Linux environment skills. Must be able to navigate the filesystem, find files (typically logs and configuration files), search for text in files, ssh to remote machines, determine whether remote machines are reachable, determine the status of processes on the machine (running/not running, listening/not listening on port(s), etc.). The ability to write bash scripts or ruby scripts is highly desirable. -Experience with troubleshooting serverless applications in the Amazon Web Services environment using AWS Console capabilities such as Cloudwatch for logs, DynamoDB browser, SQS/SNS queue/topic browsing, SES rules, etc. is a big plus. -Experience with building queries for a log aggregation tool like Splunk or Kibana is a big plus.
